Champion's
Commitment
To
Safeguarding... |
At Champion Window and Door,
we’re committed to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
As a responsible corporation, manufacturing outstanding
premium-quality windows and doors, we’re committed to responsibly
using all resources, as well as safeguarding the communities and
environments in which Champion operates.
Champion prides itself on its
valuable scrap aluminum recycling systems. Although aluminum is less
than one percent of the nation’s municipal solid waste stream, it
remains one of the most valuable recyclable materials. Aluminum has a
high market value and continues to provide an economic incentive to
recycle. Americans throw away enough aluminum every three months to
rebuild our entire commercial air fleet. Because aluminum lying in
our landfills will still be around in 200 or more years, recycling
scrap aluminum makes sense.
It almost always takes less
energy to make a product from recycled materials than it does to make
it from new materials. Using recycled scrap aluminum to make new
aluminum cans, for example, uses 96 percent less energy than making
aluminum cans from bauxite ore, the raw material used to make
aluminum. Moreover, recycling aluminum cans reduce air and water
pollution. The use of scrap aluminum instead of bauxite ore to make
new aluminum products cuts air and water pollution by 95 percent.
Champion takes
a comprehensive approach to sustainability that maximizes recycling
opportunities, minimizes waste and pollution, reduce consumption,
employs the latest in waste management and recycling strategies, and
ensures that products made by Champion are make to last. Champion’s
commitment to environmental maintenance is firmly rooted in our
corporate culture, and has been since the company was established in
1952. At Champion we recognize our responsibilities to sustain our
natural resources and the environment, and will avoid wasteful or
harmful disregard of the environmental effects of our operation.
