A Champion
is born...
 |
Over fifty years ago, two brothers, Nat and Tom
Arcati, entered into a new venture. They wanted to manufacture a
quality storm window and door. With only a high school education,
they worked long hours and traveled extensively to get their project
off the ground. Their project started off small, beginning only
inside a garage in Brooklyn, NY. At the time, they were thinking
about the next week or month, but in actuality they were planning for
their families’ future. The founders were honest, hard-working men
who learned how to successfully deal with many people, research new
products, be loyal to employees and customers, and expand when
necessary. Their decisions were always carefully weighed and
thoroughly evaluated.
After a few expansions and
location changes, Champion Windows moved to its current location in
Syosset, NY in 1968. The move was in response to a largely growing
business and consumer base. This building was the headquarters for
their manufacturing of storm windows and doors until upgrading to
replacement windows with the sole production of the 2500 double hung
tilt window in 1983. The year 1984 marked the time for Champion to
expand its current facility to make room for the large increase in
sales and success of their 2500 window. The factory expanded from
30,000 sq. ft. to 50,000 sq. ft. This performed well with the addition
of many new windows such as the 1000 sideload and the Legend 9000 to
the Champion production line. This ultimately required additional
factory space for increased efficiency. Their next expansion came in
1997 when the company purchased its neighboring building to expand its
facility to 80,000 sq. ft. Once again, expansion was due to the need
for increased space for production.
Throughout all
the years, the company’s success has been a result of devotion to
teamwork and utilizing market trends to expand and create new ideas.
Champion has continued to grow because of its quality, service, values
and integrity. These are the very principles, which are the
cornerstone of its philosophy. Present day, there are over 10 million
Champion windows in the eastern United States. Today, as we expand
our business greater each day and touch upon new horizons, we like to
think that each window and door that we manufacture lives up to the
standards of integrity and quality set forth by Nat and Tom. These
fine men are missed, but never forgotten
