Champion Aluminum Corp. was founded in 1952 as a manufacturer and supplier of storm windows and doors. In 1968 Champion moved to Syosset, New York, in response to growth in its business and customer base. The building in Syosset was the headquarters for Champion’s manufacturing of storm windows and doors until 1983, at which point the evolving market caused a shift in focus to replacement windows with the development and successful launch of its Series 2500 tilt-in double hung window. Due to the large increase in sales resulting from the success of its newly introduced replacement line, Champion expanded its facility in 1984 from 30,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet. Over time, Champion began to introduce more products, and this expansion caused the company to purchase its neighboring building in 1997 to provide an additional 35,000 square feet for production, and also to begin doing business as Champion Window and Door.
On January 3, 2011, the assets of Champion Window and Door were acquired by Michael Lentin. With 20 years experience in the industry in both manufacturing and installation, Michael plans on continuing Champion’s focus in both the new construction and replacement commercial markets. Under the new ownership, the company has been renamed from Champion Window and Door to Champion Architectural Window and Door, indicating the direction the company is headed. Champion has a complete engineering and development team to design and compliment its already extensive line of replacement and new construction windows. Since the acquisition, Champion has also completed the move of its manufacturing and corporate headquarters from its two buildings in Syosset to a single 100,000 square foot facility in Hauppauge, New York. This move has allowed Champion to house its entire aluminum inventory indoors, as well as provided the company with the capacity to continue its current path of growth and expansion.
